Any designer with a design idea that will benefit their selected nonprofit organization is eligible to submit an application for consideration. The organization that will benefit from the project must be a registered nonprofit.
All applications must be submitted in English. All design projects that support the needs of the nonprofit and meet the conditions and requirements of the Designing for Good program will be considered.
Video applications must be YouTube or Vimeo URLs only and a maximum of 90 seconds in length. Your video should describe the project and how the grant money will be used. Judges will assess your application based on impact, feasibility and creativity.
Enter by 5 p.m. Pacific Time, January 21, 2018. Award recipients will be announced in February 2018.
Aquent will award five $5000 grants. Grants may be paid directly to the charity in support of the design project, however Aquent reserves the right to make payments on the grant award as expenses for the project are incurred and acceptable invoices are submitted for reimbursement as Aquent deems appropriate.
Grant must be used within 6 months from award date. You agree to maintain accurate records of all expenditures made under the grant, including copies of purchase receipts, and to retain such records for four (4) years following receipt of the grant. You will provide Aquent access to such records upon request.
Funds not used for the purpose described in your video application must be returned to Aquent unless a written request to use such funds for a different purpose is submitted and approved in writing.
If you are selected as a finalist you agree to submit:
- Applicant’s contact information
- Nonprofit organization, contact person, and contact information
- Information about the nonprofit’s mission, history, and whom it serves
- Signed letter from the nonprofit with which you will be working, agreeing that you may execute your project if awarded a grant.
- Documentation of applicant’s country of citizenship.
- Proof of registered nonprofit status
- If you are selected to receive a grant, you and the nonprofit must sign a Grant Agreement and provide any additional information as Aquent deems necessary, if requested.
Grants shall be awarded in compliance with applicable laws, and Aquent reserves the right not to grant awards if in its sole discretion Aquent believes that the grant violates applicable law, or that the applications do not meet the requirements for award.
Aquent reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Designing for Good program in the event that it cannot be administered as planned due to technical failures or other causes beyond the control of Aquent.
By submitting your video application you agree that you grant an irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide right and license to: (i) use, publish, review, your video application in whole or in part and all its content in connection with the Designing for Good program; (ii) modify your video application to publish it online; (iii) publish, distribute and otherwise use your video application, in whole or in part, in connection with the promotion of the Designing for Good program in all media (now known or later developed) without attribution or compensation to the designer applicant, his/her successors or assigns, or any other entity, unless prohibited by law; and (iv) use and publish your name and likeness and the name and likeness of all individuals depicted in the video, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, worldwide in perpetuity in or in connection with the Designing for Good program, and in television, radio, internet, print and other advertisements and promotions for the Designing for Good program; You agree to sign any documentation that may be required for Aquent and its designees to make use of the rights you granted above.
